The racing program includes a schedule of formal races as well as informal family races. The Tuesday night Spring and Summer Series are competitive as well as fun. More experienced skippers are always on the lookout for volunteer crew; offering new members as excellent opportunity to gain racing experience. members participate in many hosted Invitaionals as well as in races sponsored by the club. The Port Jefferson Harbor Cup is the notable event of the year and brings in racing yachts from many regional clubs. In addition to the Spring and Summer Series, the club sponsors the Mayor's Cup, Kattenborn Series, and the Gillies series.
