East Passage Yachting Center is a marina in
Portsmouth, RI. It is about halfway between Newport and Bristol. The marina is a full
facility operation with fuel, a chandlery, a pool, bar-b-ques, and a good restaurant.
There are few attractions near the marina, and none are within walking distance. The
closest is Green Animals, a topiery garden that is interesting and extensive. Due to the
steep hill encountered immediately upon leaving the marina, a taxi is a must for this
visit. Newport is a taxi or bus ride away, and the Newport steam train stops near the
marina, but up the hill! This stop is best considered as an R&R location between
hectic stops, a laundry location, and a repair facility. East Passage Yachting Center offers over 360 deep-water berths for boats from 20
to 150 feet, including side-ties for multi-hulls. Ice, water, diesel, gasoline is
available at the full service fuel dock. Slips include fresh water and 30-, 50-, and
100-amp electrical service, and are available on a seasonal or transient basis; rates are
dependent on the season and boat length. Slip summer rentals for yachts from 30 to 100
feet, are now available. |
